🍕 The Great Pizza Disaster
(Subject + Verb + Object = Correct Sentences!)

Learn how to build correct English sentences with a hilarious pizza delivery accident!
🔮

Step 1: Look and guess!

Look at the pictures: 🍕 😱 📱 🏠 😂 What do you think happens in the story?

📚

Step 2: Grammar – Basic Sentence Structure (SVO)

🔑 English sentences follow this order:

📌 SUBJECT + VERB + OBJECT

📌 Subject (Who? What?) + ⚡ Verb (Action?) + 🎯 Object (What? Who?)

Examples:

  • Tom orders a pizza.
  • The delivery driver arrives. (no object needed)
  • Everyone laughs at the mistake.

🎯 Remember: The subject comes FIRST! Then the verb. Then the object (if there is one).

🔄

Step 3: Put the words in the correct order

1. (orders / Tom / a pizza) →
2. (the address / checks / Tom) →
3. (the boss / is / confused) →
4. (everyone / laughs / at work) →
💬

Step 4: Before you read – Quick questions

1. What food is in the story? A) Burger B) Pizza?
2. Who orders the pizza? A) Tom B) The boss?
3. Does the pizza go to the right house? A) Yes B) No?

📖 Now read the story. Pay attention to the sentence order (Subject + Verb + Object)!

📖

Step 5: Read the funny story

Tom wants to surprise his friend Lisa. Tom opens his phone. He finds a pizza restaurant online. Tom orders a large pepperoni pizza. He types Lisa's address carefully.

But Tom makes a terrible mistake. His finger slips on the screen. He sends the pizza to his boss's house instead! 😱 Mr. Wilson, the boss, lives at 123 Main Street. Lisa lives at 321 Main Street.

📨 Thirty minutes later, Tom receives a message from Mr. Wilson: “Did you order a pizza for me? Thank you! But why?”

Tom feels very embarrassed. He calls the pizza restaurant immediately. “Please deliver the pizza to Lisa!” he says. But the driver already left.

Then Tom calls Lisa. Lisa laughs at the funny mistake. “Don't worry,” she says. “I will order a new pizza. You can buy me dinner tomorrow!”

Mr. Wilson enjoys the pizza at his home. He sends Tom a funny photo. The photo shows Mr. Wilson eating pizza with a big smile.

On Monday at work, everyone hears the story. All the coworkers laugh together. Now Tom has a new nickname: “Pizza Tom.” 🍕

📌 Notice the sentence order: Subject (Who?) → Verb (Action) → Object (What?)

🔍 Find the SVO pattern in the story:

  • Tom orders a pizza. (Tom = Subject, orders = Verb, a pizza = Object)
  • The driver delivers the food. (The driver = Subject, delivers = Verb, the food = Object)
  • Everyone laughs. (Everyone = Subject, laughs = Verb)
📝

Step 6: Do you understand the story?

1. Who orders the pizza?
2. Who receives the pizza by mistake?
3. What is Tom's new nickname at work?
4. Does Lisa get angry at Tom?
